House and Hotel Magazine likes this special location, located in Beverly Hills. It is on the site of the former Beverly Hills Speedway, completed in 1928 and it was the former “Beverly Wilshire Apartment Hotel”. The structure is built of a special Tuscan stone and Carrara marble in the Italian Renaissance architecture style. The hotel changed hands a couple of times and has a couple of celebrities stories Elvis Presley and Warren Beatty lived several years in the hotel. It was also the home of John Lennon, when he had separated for several months from his wife Yoko Ono. The American socialite and Woolworth department store heiress Barbara Hutton spent her last years in near poverty and poor health in the hotel and died there in May 1979.

Acquired by Regent International Hotels in 1985, the 395-room luxury hotel has been managed by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts since 1992.
Famous guests have included, Elton John, Dustin Hoffmann, Walther Matthaus, Barack Obama, the Emperor of Japan Hirohito, the Dalai Lama and Sadruddin Aga Khan, as well as Michael Caine, Michael Douglas, Farrah Fawcett, Robert Pattinson and Al Pacino.
It became a special hotel as filming locations for the movie “Pretty Woman”.
The Beverly Wilshire is worth it.
Give it a try.
