Negombo – Sri Lanka.
By Jens Hoffmann
We landed at Bandaranaike International Airport (Colombo International Airport).
It is named after the former Prime Minister Bandaranaike and is one of the busiest airports in South Asia. The airport is located in Negombo, which was in former times a top tourist spot).
The city of Negombo is the perfect first spot to explore Sri Lanka.
We checked in at the Jetwing Ayurveda Pavilions, the premier Ayurvedic resort in the country, situated in a quiet and tranquil neighborhood close to the seaside town of Negombo. For us it was the perfect place for holistic healing for mind, body and soul.

Ayurveda is the ancient science of healing and dates back many thousands of years. At Jetwing Ayurveda Pavilions these ancient treatments are put into practice by trained professionals and doctors within the precincts of a beautiful and lush hotel. Designed by the celebrated architect Anura Ratnavibhushana every guest has their own private villa, for us it was the Villa 101, which includes a little secluded garden as well.

At this resort the world is locked out and tranquility is locked in along with the therapeutic powers of traditional Ayurveda. Since our arrival we felt a warm and familiar atmosphere. The resort has just 12 ayurveda pavilions and we felt very welcome in the pavilion 101. Each day we were visited by a nice doctor and smiling therapist who took care of us with relaxing and usefull treatments.
Head to the inner sanctum of the spa where sublime water therapies take you into a world of cosy Ayurveda treatments and relaxation.
The location has a great free-flowing pool.

The reception guys were always nice and helpful such as the housekeepers. Every day smiling gardners were taking care of this peaceful oasis to perfection. The highlight were the meals, well presented and excellent. The chef was very flexible and every day fed us with fresh vegetables and juices. I will surely come back and hope to find again this peaceful atmosphere and these special people that make this place Unique. Sincere thanks to all of you and sorry if I didn’t mentioned your names one by one.
It was a lovely stay.
