Foodtrip to Thailand. Thats my style. I used to live three years in Bangkok (206-2009) and I am addicted to thai food. I am still in love with the City of Angels and the food trip was joyful.

Silver curtain rain down, lovely stay.

The famous luxury hotel Swissôtel Nai Lert Park offers a unique city stay in BKK, Thailand’s bustling capital with great restaurants and a beautiful lush tropical garden not far away from Lumpini Parc and a short walk to the BTS station. Before all the restaurant cerenomies we enjoyed Lumpini Parc.

From Swissôtel you have an easy access to everything you want, especially the business districts is in walking distance. But the nightlife is nearby as well and you have fantastic views on Chao Praya river.

The guest rooms feature private balconies overlooking the pool and gardens, while the Executive Club and exclusive suites serve the demands of even the most luxury used traveller needs.

I enjoyed the very nice spa. The hotel has also five dining venues, a grand ballroom and swimming pool.

Unfortunately the place became famous while great actor D. Carradine died in this hotel.

David Carradine, star of the 1970s TV series “Kung Fu” who had a wide-ranging career in the movies was a leading member of the famous Hollywood acting family Carradine. Rip.

After the spirital part.

We had a nice experience with some friends in the Shangri-La.

The Chinese calligraphy “Living in the Lost Horizon” by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously adorns the wall of Shang Palace’s main entrance.

Places to eat you will find everywhere. My restaurant tip:

Sra Bua a fine-dining restaurant that serves cutting edge Thai cuisine unlike any you will have ever tried before. Well-known Thai favourites have been turned inside out, and every dish is a treat for the eyes – as well as the taste buds. Located on the ground floor of the Siam Kempinski Hotel, Sra Bua restaurant has high ceilings and Thai antique embellishments. The restaurant’s name means lotus pond and a central feature of the restaurant is an ornate water feature decorated with lily pods and lotus flowers. The most coveted table in the house sits under the beautifully carved teak roof in the left hand corner of the dining room, but there are also some cosy booths if you want a little more privacy. Go for Ruam Gan and share different things for guests or friends. The chef who designed the menu has a passion for Thai cooking, and runs the Michelin-starred restaurant Kiin Kiin in Copenhagen. Henrik Yde-Andersen has now left the restaurant in the reliable hands of chef Morten, who used to work in Kiin Kiin as well, but visits regularly to ensure his vision appears on every plate. The menu changes every quarter, but signature dishes and favourites remain. We start with a trio of ‘nibblings’. The soy-roasted cashew nut meringue was crunchy on the outside with a chewy centre and the soy masked any taste of sugar. The lotus root was flavoured with kaffir lime was sweet and tangy, and the final amuse-bouche was a rich, smoky tomato and chilli dip served with a prawn cracker.

Tip #2: “My” thai restaurant in BKK:

Le Beaulieu by Chef Herve Frerard. One of my french restos based on my frequent dining experiences there and elsewhere, although Herve claims the cuisine to be Mediterranean, with the exception of the odd pasta dish sprinkled here and there and a few recipes from Provence, it is basically French.

The restaurant is centrally located, Skytrain and subway connections are within walking distance.
Turning to the cuisine, which is why you would be dining at Le Beaulieu.
It is always excellent; and following are just a few highlights:
Dinner starter: Lentil broth, garlic and fresh chervil; snail lasagna and poultry breast.
Dinner main course: Braised veal cheek, cooked in Merlot wine and Old Port, black od sun dried tomatoes. Yummy….. Chef Herve learned from the legendary Paul Bocuse in Lyon, you will enjoy it.

You should try everything:
Sticky Rice -Mango

If you go to the islands, perhaps Koh Phi-phi. The video was filmed in Thailand.

Roger Moore was the MI6 agent James Bond, the film has sent him after the Solex Agitator, a device which can harness the power of the sun, while facing Scaramanga, the “Man with the Golden Gun”.

The action culminates in a duel between them that settles the fate of the Solex.

The film was being shot mostly in Asia (Thailand, Hong Kong and Macao)

Good bye, Thailand.

Living in style.
