It was a cosy highlight for me to stay in the charming old Hotel Bristol in Opatija.

Entering the walkway to the hotel, the sophisticated sea domicile reveal its elegant, old-school ambience. The destination is a special location, conceived by the Hapsburgs for vacationing emperors. This part of coastal Croatia curls up under the Istria peninsula, and is washed by an Adriatic so clear that you see no seam between sea and air. Just a stone throw from the Adriatic sea guest can wallow in select comfort and a truly special style. In front of the hotel is a fantastic garten and you will find everywhere once-grand residences and villas.

The rooms are not extremly stylish but big enough and we had a big balcony with a view on the sea.

I was a spacious family room on the 4th floor which had a big bed bed, plus another baby bed for our child. In our residence we felt like at home and the wifi connection in the room was quick.
The bathroom was modern and spacious with a shower over the bath and plenty of room for the toiletries.

Hotel Bristol is in the heart of the town located just next to the famous opera. We came during the Festival Kvarner (which is financed by the EU, the Ministry of Tourism, Tourist office Kvarner and the City of Opatija) and enjoyed a beautiful classic concert. Great.

There is a pleasant cafe at ground level for snacks and people watching.

The breakfast buffet is served in the old ballroom with its chandeliers, which gives the room a great atmosphere. IMG_2780
After an exiting day in Riejka ( 3 biggest city in Croatia) we got a massage and enjoyed the sauna. An oasis of tranquillity and relaxation. There a lot of holistic and beauty treatments, the range of well-being offers leaves no wish of the big international press group unfulfilled.

In the rest of Croatia they eat meat in Opatija they prefer fish. The waters are respectfully fished, and in return give up seafood treats of quite extraordinary delicacy.

Culinary experiences of higher standards are easy to find in Opatija.

We enjoyed the lovely restaurant “Molo Longo”, which serves local food, home made bread, grilled lobster and amazingly nice steaks together with nice local wines. Sophisticated style.

I love the Bristol and Opatija.
