Stop-over in Lisbon
Today: The Hilton Double Tree Hotel
By Jens Hoffmann
Lisbon is fun me, unfortunately, this time I spent only one night in the city, because the real object of my desire were the Cape Verde Islands.
The Tejo, Lisbon’s lovely river, was bathed in a colorful sea of colors, just before its mouth into the Atlantic, it has opened, a width of ten kilometers, the “Cais the Colunas” has turned into a promenade with many beautiful cafes to the Tagus and thus to the whole world. From here Marques de Pombal rebuilt the city in 1755 after the strong earthquake.
A fascinating city with a touch of nostalgia and bygone times in the air, the city of love is gracefully framed by Baroque buildings and arcades.
The longing and melancholy of earlier times has accompanied me today, even if I have just made a short stop-over in the fine DoubleTree by Hilton Lisbon – Fontana Park Hotel Lisbon. A modern, luxurious and cosmopolitan hotel in the center of the business, shopping and entertainment district of Portugal.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Lisbon – Fontana Park is a cool design hotel.
Located in an old factory building from the early 20th century that has been built into a modern structure. A beautiful hotel with fine, discreet luxury welcomes you here in the heart of the cultural district of the city. For me the perfect choice for a night in Lisbon. It offers a wonderful entry into the city and comfortable rooms. The entire hotel is elegantly furnished and spreads a warm, cozy atmosphere. Of course, the theme of wine plays a particularly important role. I myself live in the loft, that’s why I was enthusiastic about the lofty, harmonious form and color concept. The city is changing, it has been proclaimed a tax parade and Madonna has moved her residence to the outskirts of Lisbon. The city will furthermore a food hub soon.
