Design & Style Side-Hotel / Hamburg / Germany

House & Hotel Magazine likes this beautiful boutique hotel in Hamburg. The one and only SIDE Hotel is the first and sole 5 star Design Hotel in Hamburg. Located near the inner Alster lake and the city’s shopping arcades, it combines wellness with lifestyle and luxury with design.
The 11 floors of puristic design were composed by architect Matteo Thun. It is just a short walk to the next U-bahn station and you can catch a train straight to the airport. The staff is very pleasant and professional and we got a nice upgrade.
The resto is noted especially for its special prepared steaks with sides of beef hanging in a glass case for all to see, we will try the restaurant next time.
To do: The HafenCity, is the focus of Hamburg’s redevelopment, although, as a boat ride revealed, the port is still very much a going concern, and staggeringly huge. A maze of wharfs and waterways in various states of dilapidation seemed to be endlessly.
At Argentinienbrücke, a gold bull stands on a concrete plinth in the water, thats nice.
Fall in love with the beauty of the Speicherstadt, rows of multistorey, late nineteenth-century warehouses linked by walkways above canals. Many are still occupied by dealers in Middle Eastern carpets and textiles, and this art and business conjunction is clearly something the city is keen to preserve, though judging by the media colonisation of the area, away from the Elbe, the city’s former working-class areas have been the subject of becoming cool, the former meatpacking district Schanzen changed his face.
Karolinenviertel, with narrow courts of workers’ tenements packed around tiny squares, and seemingly stuck in some kind of 1970s squatters’ limbo. West, towards Altona, are some authentically rough-and-tumble venues, such as the Detroit-worthy Astra-Stube.
The hotel is very close to most attractions and we particularly liked an evening stroll in the magnificent Botanic Gardens.

Perfect place, if you are in Hamburg, you must visit this hotel absolutely. It’s worth it!
