House & Hotel Magazine features China’s horseshoe-shaped Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort hotel which is set to be the country’s latest landmark.
China unveiled the world’s largest and biggest building in Chengdu today it’s Huzhou in the northern Zhejiang province that claims attention, with the opening of a 27-storey hotel set on the Taihu Lake between Nanjing and Shanghai.
It looks great, congrats to the fantstic design by architect Ma Yansong.

From above water the hotel looks like a horseshoe, but it actually has two levels that are underground to create a complete oval.

The hotel includes 321 guest rooms, including 39 villas and 44 suites.The interiors and furnishings feature different types of jade, a prominent stone in Chinese culture, and the lobby is decorated with Swarovski crystals and European natural crystal lamps, according to an article in The Telegraph.

The hotel will attract luxury travelers from everywhere and China’s development continues at a rapid pace.

The opening in Huzhou in its soft-opening phase. Its unique design was conceived by the architect Ma Yansong and constructed by Shanghai Feizhou Group. Yansong has worked with Zaha Hadid Architects in London and is responsible for the Absolute Towers in Mississauga, Canada.

How to get there? Huzhou is next to Shanghai in the east, on the south beach of the big freshwater Taihu lake, links to Jiangsu and Anhui province in the west.
The Shanghai-Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Anhui express way contributes to a quick transportation hub.

With two levels that underground to create a complete oval, and 27 floors above water, the Sheraton Huzhou design features are ready to attract the travelling community. Jade, a symbol of pureness in Chinese culture, is found throughout the hotel. The lobby’s floor is paved with White Jade and features Tiger’s Eye Stone from Brazil, while the porticos and the entire ceiling are laid with Citrine. Furthermore the lobby ceiling is decorated with thousands of Swarovski and European natural crystal lamps which are suspended in a way intended to resemble a rolling wave.

The hotel has as a ‘spa village’ which features eight villas, 40 hot springs and a yacht dock. A club lounge, huge ballroom and various restaurants and bars will also be available to guests who find themselves in Huzhou.
Known as the ‘City of Silk’ because of its ancient silk-production industry, the city is said to be the home of China’s tea culture as well as the capital for writing, calligraphy and painting.
