Sawasdee Thailand, smooth a silk my amusing Phuket.

I love it to be here.

We landed on the International Airport Phuket.
Phuket Thailand

The taxi sent to collect us from the airport glides quietly over the tropical island.

A tailor made refuge for a romantic stay, our smooth detox resort on Koh Yao Noi.

White sandy beaches, a perfect and picturesque island in Thailand’s Phang Nga Bay – the unique natural environment setting.

Six Senses Yao Noi boutique hotel is amazing.

Swimming into one of the island resort’s private pool villas feels like residing in a plush tree house.

It is located on a cliffside, with jaw-dropping views over Phang Nga Bay’s limestone pinnacles, they’re built using natural materials, local teak, topped with a palm-leaf roof, decked out in stylish bright linens and simple mango-wood accessories. It was great to enjoy the pampering attentions of the staff.

This is truly a rustic, cosy escape in one of the world’s most beautiful locations.
We had a champagne picnic soul soothing guaranteed.

I felt like one of the older James Bond (Moore, Sean Connery, not the new one, sorry Daniel)

By the way, the location became famous with the 007 movie “The man with the golden gun”.

The movie was filmed on this great location.

Roger Moore was the MI6 agent James Bond, the film has sent him after the Solex Agitator, a device which can harness the power of the sun, while facing Scaramanga, the “Man with the Golden Gun”. The action culminates in a duel between them that settles the fate of the Solex. Probably Roger Moore will love the new 24-acre Six Senses Yao Noi, that exemplifies the Six Senses philosophy of Redefining Experiences from arrival to departure. Beautiful rocks scenery, blue water, Phang Nga Bay is just beautiful. Back to lovely Thailand and the beautiful islands. It is no longer a secret spot, so you can book a private jet from Phuket to the resortThe natural vegetation and tropical landscaping provides privacy between the elevated villas. The Sea View villas offer glorious views over Phang Nga Bay and the Mountain View villas are set in lush tropical forests. The luxurious Hilltop Reserve has been transformed into a stunning pool and restaurant complex.

The Reserve is a private haven for the rich and famous, royalty and sophisticated travellers, lounging by the pool gives you exceptional panoramic views. The perfect “Sanuk” hotspot is the bar “The Den” to relax in the evenings and fot the night cap.

Finally, yes there are first class golf courses around.

We flew back via Bangkok and used the 36h stop over to “relax” in BKK.

First some lovely street food, later on a few drinks.

Singha & Champagne plus Turf & Surf. .

Our bar tip in Bangkok: Well known but good. The Lebua. Quite busy, but still good.

Our resto tips in Bangkok:

Sra Bua a fine-dining restaurant that serves cutting edge Thai cuisine unlike any you will have ever seen before. Well-known Thai favourites have been turned inside out, and every dish is a treat for the eyes – as well as the taste buds. Located on the ground floor of the Siam Kempinski Hotel, Sra Bua restaurant has high ceilings and Thai antique embellishments. The restaurant’s name means lotus pond and a central feature of the restaurant is an ornate water feature decorated with lily pods and lotus flowers. The most coveted table in the house sits under the beautifully carved teak roof in the left hand corner of the dining room, but there are also some cosy booths if you want a little more privacy.

The chef who designed the menu has a passion for Thai cooking, and runs the Michelin-starred restaurant Kiin Kiin in Copenhagen. Henrik Yde-Andersen has now left the restaurant in the reliable hands of chef Morten, who used to work in Kiin Kiin as well, but visits regularly to ensure his vision appears on every plate. The menu changes every quarter, but signature dishes and favourites remain. We start with a trio of ‘nibblings’. The soy-roasted cashew nut meringue was crunchy on the outside with a chewy centre and the soy masked any taste of sugar. The lotus root was flavoured with kaffir lime was sweet and tangy, and the final amuse-bouche was a rich, smoky tomato and chilli dip served with a prawn cracker.

The best french restaurant in BKK.

#2 Le Beaulieu Restaurant

Le Beaulieu by Chef Herve Frerard is one of the top French restaurants in Bangkok, based on my frequent dining experiences there and elsewhere, although Herve claims the cuisine to be Mediterranean, with the exception of the odd pasta dish sprinkled here and there and a few recipes from Provence, it is basically French.

Skytrain and subway connections are within walking distance.

Turning to the cuisine, which is why you would be dining at Le Beaulieu in the first place, it is excellent.
Highlights:Lentil broth, snail lasagna and poultry breast, green tomato syrup.
Yummy.

Dinner main course: Braised veal cheek cooked in Merlot wine and Old Port.
Together with purée, black olives and sun dried tomatoes.

Chefs Specialties: Roasted French Bresse Pigeon. Yummy!

Herve learned from the legendary Paul Bocuse, you will enjoy it.

Good bye Thailand.

Living in style.
