We made a nice press trip to Bad Saarow. Just a 40 min drive from Berlin-City.
After arrival we checked in @ The Hotel Esplanade Spa & Resort.
It is easy to see why people love to come to the Hotel and Spa Esplanade.
With its softly bubbling pools and tranquil massage rooms, it sits right on the shore of Lake Scharmuetzelsee in the idyllic small town of Bad Saarow, just 45 minutes’ drive south-east from Berlin.
It offers a huge 3000qm2 spa area, pools, great sauna (indoor and outdoor) opportunities and even a 5star hotel “guest relation manager”.
The history is worth it to tell, the famous german poet Theodor Fontane was so inspired when he visited Bad Saarow (1881) that he named the area “March Sea”.
We love that.
The extensive area of natural beauty is full of fun and The Scharmützelsee lake – the largest in the old March of Brandenburg – is the heart of this lush oasis of relaxation and is even connected with Berlin’s waterways via the canals of Storkow. You will be astounded by the peaceful seclusion and idyllic beauty of the countryside.
In the roaring 1920s Berliners came out to lush green Saarow to summer by the lake, it had all the time high-profile guests and celebrities like Winston Churchill and german chancellor Angela Merkel.
Churchill loved to play golf @ Bad Saarow.
Indeed it is fun to play golf here.
We had a great time.
