Destination Sylt.

By feature reporter Jens Hoffmann

I was on Sylt, the island is a unique spot with natural beauty and singular culture.

The 5* Superior Hotel Landhaus Stricker is located in Tinnum, between Westerland and Kampen. The Landhaus Stricker is since years one of the Relais & Chateaux hotels.

Holger Bodendorf started a traditional restaurant in 2001 with his wife and extended it later on with a small five-star hotel. Holger Bodendorf serves a cuisine with Southern French accents in a Mediterranean setting.
His team does everything to make the guests feel comfortable and that’s probably one of the reasons why Sylt is always a place to be. It is the perfect island for wealthy guests and gourmets, there are a few exquisite restaurants and chefs de cuisine on the nearly 100-square-kilometer island.

Holger Bodendorf has released cookbooks in which he leads his readers with 100 mediteranean, regional exquisite recipes and breakfast inspiration to the nicest places of Sylt.

His passion for cooking is an important part of his role as host in his restaurant “1784” in Landhaus Stricker. He works six days a week and the culinary blend of his earthy and regional country kitchen, classical haute cuisine and modern gourmet creations were fantastic.

We got selected star cuisine like marinated tuna, scallops, wagyu beef, cherry and caramel chocolate. It was fantastic.
The chef de cuisine assembled a stylish, delicious dinner from the finest ingredients, an unforgetable, yummy experience.
Those wishing to recover can swim lengths in the swimming pool and in addition the “Private Spa ” invites with more than 700 m² to relax and enjoy.

Whatever the weather, the private spa with its sauna suite and beauty and fitness facilities ensure a perfect balance between exertion and relaxation.

Here you will find short vacation for body and soul in luxurious surroundings.

I will be back soon…
