The A-ROSA resort is more than just a luxury five-star resort, located at the famaous Scharmützelsee only 45 min by car from Berlin-City. Ar

It is easy to see why people love to come here, enjoy the resort and play golf.

With its great golf courses, private beach, pools and saunas, it sits right on the shore of Lake Scharmuetzelsee in the idyllic small town of Bad Saarow, just 45 minutes’ drive south-east from Berlin. The german poet Theodor Fontane once called the lake the March Sea. On the western bank, you can tell why: the idyllic tranquillity in the midst of unspoilt forests is in itself pure poetry. Surrounded by woods and meadows, the resort throns on a majestic location on the shore of the famous lake. A passionate round of golf or a tour with one of the hotel’s famous RIVA’s “the Rolls Royce of the boats”.
If you’re passionate about golf, this is just the place for you – on courses designed by famous players. This is borne out by the awards “Germany’s Leading Golf Resort 2012” (World Travel Awards) and “5-star superior golf course” (German National Golf Course Association). Tennis facilities offering different surfaces and one of the most renowned German inland sailing academies increase the range of sports on offer even further.

The beautiful private beach came along with 28 degrees.

It was a great experience, the hotel offers a perfect room service and we enjoyed our stay.
The extensive area of natural beauty is full of fun and The Scharmützelsee lake – the largest in the old March of Brandenburg – is the heart of this lush oasis of relaxation and is even connected with Berlin’s waterways via the canals of Storkow. You will be astounded by the peaceful seclusion and idyllic beauty of the countryside.

The perfect place for a diner is the restaurant “Villa am See”. Mathias Rösch is Chef de Cuisine, he was the Mastercook of the region in 2012. There is a special carte menu – different European countries like Austria, France with the local specialities- just six different course tasting menus. The Chef has a particular passion for local cuisine, fish and vegetables. There are dedicated gardens to supply the fresh food used in the kitchen.
The wine list has coverages from France, Germany, Italy and Spain in particular, with no rare, luxury wines.
The crisp bread with nice olive oil was effective and yummy, this was followed by a german menue, lovely “Kalbsbäckchen with Leipziger Allerlei”. The spices working well with the nice vegaetables.
My first proper course was the grilled salmon, attractively presented and had a pleasant taste. The dish was garnished with nice vegetables with excellent flavour.

The fish came together with a excellent, fine french Chardonnay white wine. Perfect.

We had so much that we left out the Austrian dessert “Topfen, which we will have next time.

Total: This is a restaurant that can produce genuinely top class dishes, and the control of balancing flavors was impressive.
We had a fantastic evening. Good bye, Mr. Rösch.
