Stylish, contemporary in design, get some oriental flair, Mandarin Oriental, New York redefines luxury as New York City’s high sophisticated hotel. For me the nicest hotel in New York. The Mandarin Oriental’s CEO is the german Susanne Hatje, a powerful lady with style. Before she was in charge for Mandarin Munic, Hongkong & Boston. Cities we love. Sawasdee Bangkok, I love it to be here. The Sukothai hotel is always my first choice. Its a great location on South Sathorn, near Lumphini Park and MRT Lumphini. Just nearby the area in Sathorn Soi 1 where I used to live for three years from 2006 – 2009. Luxury means different things to different people. For some people its a visual threat others define it in more sensual way both will be more than happy. The Sukothai staff makes guests feel…Continue Reading “Sukothai Hotel Luxury style in Bangkok”

A bit of a luxury experience you will find here. The Peninsula HK better “The Pen” was build in 1928. It is the most historical hotel in Hong Kong. I love Hong Kong, we checked in @ the Mandarin Oriental which is probably the most famous upmarket hotel in Hong Kong. It’s smack-bang in the middle of everything, hasn’t lost any of its 1960s-era glam, has a couple of Michelin-starred restaurants and I can’t say enough good things about the beds. You want central Hong Kong? You’ve got central Hong Kong. The “old Mandarin” to distinguish from the smaller, boutiquey younger sister The Landmark Mandarin Oriental next door looks out on just about every…Continue Reading “Hong Kong for 36 hours – Mandarin Oriental / China”

Contributed by Jens Hoffmann. We made a nice press trip to Bad Saarow. Just a 40 min drive from Berlin-City. After arrival we checked in @ The Hotel Esplanade Spa & Resort. It is easy to see why people love to come to the Hotel and Spa Esplanade. With its softly bubbling pools and tranquil massage rooms, it sits right on the shore of Lake Scharmuetzelsee in the idyllic small town of Bad Saarow, just 45 minutes’ drive south-east from Berlin. The hotel Esplanade in…Continue Reading “Hotel Esplanade Spa & Resort / Bad Saarow / Germany”

Hotel Gstaad Palace is one of my favourite hotels in Switzerland. It is set on a hill overlooking the beautiful town of Gstaad and offers a breathtaking view of the majestic Swiss Alps. Built in 1913 it has earned an unrivalled reputation for discret, refined hospitality over the years, and has always welcomed the most discerning international stars like Roger Moore, Liz Taylor and Prince Charles. It is a great five star hotel in distinguished surroundings and a relaxing ambiance; over 250 employees makes you…Continue Reading “Suisse style de luxe – Palace Gstaad / Switzerland”

After joining the Hilton Hotels & Resorts portfolio the Concorde Opera Paris hotel began a significant $50 million restoration and enhancement programme ahead of its much anticipated re-launch as Hilton…Continue Reading “Cultural trip “Au coeur du monde” – Hilton Paris Opera – France”

Istanbul by Jens Hoffmann Arrival at the Atatürk International Atatürk Airport. 30 degrees, nice and easy. We took a taxi and went straight to the Ciragan Palace Kempinski. It is truly a lovely 5star luxury experience, the hotel of the Kempinski Group was formerly the palace of an Ottoman Sultan. Different strokes for differnet folks, nowadays it is the grand dame of Istanbuls hotel scene and it wows guests at every turn, from the sprawling, manicured grounds, to the heated infinity pool right on the…Continue Reading “Kempinski Ciragan / Istanbul / Turkey”

Back to Germany and check in @ the Weinhaus Henninger in Palatinate. The region is famous for excellent food, finest wines and the hotel is a legend well known for great rooms. We came by car and enjoyed it to be on the germam highway. Finally we arrived in the lovely “outback” of Germany. The fine country house hotel with restaurant is the place to be in the Palatinate. But let’s go back only four centuries. The history of the house wine is long, the…Continue Reading “Check in @ Weinhaus Henninger / Palatinate / Germany”

I was in London for an event and enjoyed the city. We checked in @ the nice 5star Hotel Royal, better the historic Hotel Café Royal in London. This has to be one of the strangest hotels in which I have ever stayed. It was once the the home of high Bohemia. In the Café Royal’s Grill Room Oscar Wilde fell in love with Bosie, and where Beerbohm, Whistler, Coward and a parade of brightly burning characters ate, drank and talked hot air, right up…Continue Reading “Check in @ Hotel Café Royal – London calling – UK”

Bali – Healing hotel COMO featured by Francois Jobard. This fantastic hotel is set amid the tropical Ayung River valley. We shaked up our chakras at Bali’s most luxurious health retreat. The estate combines luxury and holistic wellness deep within the rainforest overlooking the stunning River Ayung. It was easy to unstress of life and realign your chi while you’re at it. The real wow factor is the holistic element – this is where you can detox, de-stress and revitalise.
